After consulting with Fraser Health, we were advised that, in order to maintain social distancing and reduce the opportunity for transmission of COVID-19, we can not gather people together for general DWS meetings. We have been getting harm reduction supplies out to DWS Peer Network members for distribution, and are planning to set up locations and times for folks to get harm reduction supplies directly. We are also looking at what else we might be able to provide.

Whatever we do will have to be done in a way that will not gather any crowds, and where everyone can keep two arms-length (6 feet) distance from each other. I’ll be in touch further. Please pass along the message… from a distance. Take care everyone! Brian

Twice a month we host open general meetings for all impacted by the war on drugs to exchange ideas and information.

Meetings are held twice a month on the Tuesday two weeks before income assistance cheque day, and on the Tuesday before income assistance cheque day.

At all meetings we provide:

  • Something to eat
  • A wide range of harm reduction services and a peer network member who can supervise safe consumption
  • Honorariums ($5 for the meeting, additional $5 if you have collected inappropriately discarded sharps-either turning them in to us or somewhere else-and can report how many you collected and where)
  • Sharps disposal
  • Drug testing/information
  • Camaraderie

Meeting Time and Location:

1:30-3:30pm in the Jasbir Room at Archway Community Services located at 2420 Montrose Ave, Abbotsford, BC

Please use entrance down the steps on the north side of the building.

NOTE: Fire code limits attendance to 75. We close the doors and stop taking down names (for honorariums, which are distributed at the end of the meeting) at 1:45. We take a break mid-meeting. Folks can leave at any time, if they need, but the doors are closed to entrances at 1:45, except after the mid-meeting break.

The peer network consists of 15 people with living experience, many of whom also experience homelessness.  This network meet 8 hours a week and exchanges information and harm reduction supplies which are then distributed though our unique networks.

Peer Network Members are experts in the areas of drug use, harm reduction and overdose intervention and are highly trained including Occupational First Aid Training.

Harm Reduction: Our peer network can provide safe consumption, harm reduction supplies and access to a phone.  Call or text any of these numbers:
